Assessment_1_part_1

5. Read the two short essays (first essay by John Doe, second essay by

Jane Citizen) below then blog your

Opinion/answer on:

Who wrote the better essay and why?

It is imperative to analyze on facts and evidence outside of your own opinions and thoughts. the majority of what you need to write will need to be  from  research, statistics, journal and textbooks.
John Doe's essay is a bit subjective, you can hear his personal feelings  towards airlines, although he did made some valid points, meaning some people can understand or relate to his experiences, but he  did not weigh or explore the possible attempts by the airlines, to resolve their issues. In contrast to Jane citizen's essay. Jane's essay is overall objective, this is portrayed through the way she describe the airline issues, and how the airlines are attempting to resolve their issues, as well as having a much more comprehensive sources or referencing information to fortify her points.

In comparing the structure of the two essays. John's introduction is broad and did not really specify the purpose or the topic, he is not as consistent through out his essay, this is shown by how he tend, to fail not complete the topic before going to another. Jane's essay in the other hand clearly highlights her topic in the introduction "This paper highlights one of the most important human aspect of its service: the rostering of flight attendants." , as well as using (to be expected in an essay) formal (compare to john's essay which is informal ) language through out her essay.

Jane's referencing strategy meets the standards of the 'APA6th edition style' of referencing, this is shown by how she applied the quotation marks when directly quoting relevant sources' facts or opinions, she also does a great deal, of crediting the source and its origin within the sentence, whenever she uses the factual information that she gathered in order to fortify her  key points. Although Jane and john provided referencing at the very end. John fail to  reference or quote his cousin with the the standard of 'APA6th edition style'
